Every Eventful widget has its own event query options. Show featured events, past events or a mix, include or exclude single events, limit to a date range, and set the order. Every widget below is live and uses the same demo events.

How to set it: Filter Events > Filter Events: Featured. Type of Event: Upcoming. Mark events as featured in The Events Calendar and they appear here automatically.

Past events, newest first
How to set it: Type of Event: Past Events (Pro). Order By: Event Start Date, Order: Descending. Hide Events Without Featured Images on. Useful for an archive of talks or a “Recent events” section.

Paid events in A to Z order
How to set it: Hide Free Events on (no cost or a cost of 0). Order By: Title, Order: Ascending. Limit: 5. A table works well for an alphabetical list.

What you can customise
Everything below is a control in the Elementor panel. No code needed.
- Latest or featured events
- Upcoming events (free), past or all events (Pro)
- Include only, or exclude, specific events
- Exclude the current event or password-protected events
- Hide free events, or events without a featured image
- Limit to a specific date, a year, or a from-to period
- Show only events that match a fixed keyword
- Order by start date, title, ID, slug or random, ascending or descending
- Condense recurring event series (with Events Calendar Pro)
- Total limit per widget
- Optional schema.org Event markup for the events shown
Can a widget show past events?
Yes, in Pro. Set Type of Event to Past Events, or All to show upcoming and past together. The free version shows upcoming events.
Can I show only certain events?
Yes. Use Include Only to pick events by name, or Exclude to hide some. You can also show only featured events, or events in a date range.
Does Eventful add event schema?
Each widget has an SEO Schema Markup switch that outputs schema.org Event data for the events it shows. Leave it off if your SEO plugin already adds event schema.
